Let the Good Times Roll – It’s Mardi Gras!

Think Mardi Gras, and New Orleans and all its revelry probably pops into mind. But Mardi Gras isn’t just for adults… kids can celebrate, too, with parades and parties!

Sam and Sofia from Little Passports have created a Mardi Gras Float to build. (Click on the link to get a wonderful arts and crafts printout!) To really get the party started, have your nieces and nephews invite their friends over and they can have a parade of their own!

When it comes to food, there’s plenty to choose from for a Mardis Gras feast. Growing up, pancakes was the traditional Fat Tuesday meal in our household, and my husband and I will be feasting on them tomorrow.

Another traditional taste of Mardi Gras is the King Cake. Everyone takes a slice, and whomever finds the baby in their slice is supposed to buy next year’s cake. Dig in!
